While the ecological footprint is a hotly debated topic in the clothing and textiles industry, this footprint is still far too large.

More than half of the companies surveyed have practically no measures to counter climate change. And this, while this sector contributes significantly to global greenhouse gas emissions with 1.7 billion tonnes of CO2 per year. Many companies still use too little recycled or sustainably produced materials, consume too much water and pollute it heavily throughout their entire value creation chain.

Continuing in "business as usual" mode is not an option, neither for the profitability of the sector, nor for the planet.
